Get involved at SKCP!

As a community organization with a small staff, SKCP’s activities are largely driven by neighbors like you! Everyone from neighborhood old-timers to the newest among us choose to pitch in.

What volunteering opportunities do we provide?

Learn how to get involved with one of SKCP’s neighbor-led committees:

Business Outreach: Help connect local business owners and residents to support the economic vitality of the neighborhood.

Fundraising: Plan events that bring together the community and help to support SKCP’s mission.

Greening: Get involved with community gardening, open space preservation, and neighborhood beautification efforts.

Neighborhood Advisory Subcommittee: Help connect neighbors with critical supports such as utility assistance, property tax relief, eviction prevention, code enforcement and more.

Planning and Zoning: Engage neighbors in the community planning process by helping to organize monthly zoning meetings and/or participating in occasional forums on key planning issues.

Interested in more flexible volunteer opportunities? SKCP has occasional and ongoing needs for the following activities:

Helping us get the word out about events: distributing flyers, even if it’s just to your block or neighborhood business you frequent, helps us ensure that all neighbors can keep up with events and connect to important resources.

Making food for an event. Sign up to bring refreshments to one of our community events – snacks always help us get folks out!

Sharing your professional skills. Have a graphic design or accounting background? Experienced or interested in learning more about grant writing? We would love to talk to you!
