2018 Spring Cleanup - RESCHEDULED!

South Kensington Community Partners

Saturday, April 14, 10:00 am - 235 Cecil B Moore Ave *

Join your neighbors and South Kensington Community Partners to participate in the 11th Annual Philly Spring Cleanup!

You can participate in a group effort focusing on blocks around 3rd and Cecil B Moore Street, or organize neighbors on to cleanup your own block. Everyone is welcome to gather outside Principe (237 Cecil B Moore) at 10:00 am for:

  • Coffee, treats, and community mingling to kick off the day
  • Customizable recycling bins (one per household)
  • Cleaning supplies: gloves, rakes, shovels, brooms, and bags

Sign up here to participate in the group cleanup, and contact Ellie (ematthews@southkensingtoncommunity.org or 215-427-3463) if you'd like to help out! Check out the map below to see if someone organized a cleanup on your block.

Download and print the flyer to invite your neighbors, or pick up printed copies from the SKCP office.

* This event has been rescheduled from April 7 due to inclement weather.

Free Light Bulbs from 26th PD

South Kensington Community Partners

The 26th Police District is giving out LED "dusk to dawn" light bulbs. These bulbs emit a bright white light and turn on during low light conditions. The goal is to provide as many 26th District residents with a bulb for the front of their properties (one per household).

Residents can come to the 26th District Monday - Friday, 9AM - 3PM to obtain one light bulb to install as an exterior light on the front of their house. All you need to do is leave the light switch on and the bulb will activate during low light. Residents of the 26th District must bring an ID card or other type of documentation (utility bill, cell phone bill, etc) and provide their name and address for our records. Residents who are elderly or disabled and cannot travel to the district can contact police.co_26@phila.gov or call 215-686-3260.

Neighbors can also pick up light bulbs from SKCP during our office hours.
