Congratulations to community garden La Finquita (The Little Farm, Lawrence and Master Streets) for receiving a Grower's Alliance Grant from PHS! They'll be making lots of infrastructural changes to their garden, and plan to have a neighborhood produce stand this spring!

YARD AND STREET TREES

Want to "treescape" your block? KS Tree Tenders want to hear from neighbors who would like to see improved "treescapes" on their blocks as well as requests for individual street trees or street tree maintenance. Currently, we are surveying and mapping the existing street tree inventory and planting opportunities. Please email greening@ksnac.org Yard and Street Trees: Applications and Dates Current opportunities and deadlines to increase tree canopy and increase our neighborhood's beauty, health and safety:
March 22nd (extended deadline): Applications due for YARD TREES through our neighborhood Tree Tenders and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). 7 gallon container trees, you select size and species. The trees will be delivered to the neighborhood (or to your site if you request assistance) the weekend of April 21st and/or April 27th. $10 donation requested, FREE to interested Tree Tenders and neighbors within KSTT boundaries. You can request multiple trees if you have the yard space. Applications available here and in SKCP office. READ APPLICATION FORM FOR INFORMATION ABOUT SPECIES AVAILABLE.
March 30th: Applications due for free bare root STREET TREES to be planted as early as Fall 2012.
